Apologetics & Polemics to Islam

Understanding Islam Through a Christian Lens

Engaging Muslims with truth, compassion, and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What Do Muslims Believe?

Islam teaches that there is only one God (Allah), and Muhammad is His final prophet. Muslims believe in the Qur’an as their holy book and follow the Five Pillars of Islam, which include confession of faith (shahada), prayer, fasting during Ramadan, almsgiving, and pilgrimage to Mecca.

While Christians and Muslims share belief in one God, significant differences exist, especially concerning the nature of God, Jesus, salvation, and Scripture. Islam denies the Trinity, the divinity of Jesus, and His atoning death and resurrection.

As Christians, we are called to lovingly and truthfully share the gospel with Muslims, demonstrating that Jesus is not just a prophet, but the Son of God, Savior, and Lord of all (John 14:6).

Key Differences Between Christianity and Islam

God's Nature

Christianity teaches God is triune—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Islam affirms a strict monotheism and rejects the Trinity.

Jesus Christ

Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God and Savior. Islam views Him as a prophet and denies His crucifixion and resurrection.

Salvation

Salvation in Christianity is by grace through faith in Christ. In Islam, salvation is based on deeds and Allah's mercy.

Sharing the Gospel with Muslims

Effective outreach to Muslims requires a balance of truth and grace. Learn their beliefs, ask thoughtful questions, and focus on Jesus—His love, identity, and the hope He offers.

As Paul said, “I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.” — 1 Corinthians 9:22
